Reasons to Use Scrapbox
Premise
1. A note-taking tool: I can use it for meeting minutes and more.
2. A documentation tool: It allows for collaborative referencing and updating.
3. A thinking space: I believe that connecting different levels of abstraction in writing is an act of "thinking" itself.
It can be used for various purposes.
Background
I originally used Notion and learned how to use Notion. However, I have now completely migrated from Notion to Scrapbox. This decision was quite bold because document-based tools have a structure that accumulates over time. The key difference between Notion and Scrapbox lies in their organizational structure: hierarchical vs. network-based. According to shokai, hierarchical wiki systems do not scale well. The advantage of using a no-code tool like Notion is that it allows for the creation of various views and automation when the stored information is clear in terms of its purpose and usage. I have also migrated the documentation from Civichat to Scrapbox. In general, we have abandoned Slack (we use Discord) as our primary synchronous communication tool and now conduct discussions primarily on Scrapbox. Every day with Scrapbox is amazing. I can take my time to think, and it feels really good. Honestly, I don't think I can quit even if the monthly price reaches around 10,000 yen. I tweet about the benefits of Scrapbox almost every day.
